Plain Jane or Conversion cue

Does anyone on here do a cheap Plain Jane or Conversion cue?

It can be pre-built or whatever, Im not too picky as I trust cue makers more than myself to pick materials...

My budget is around $150, perhaps I can swing more somehow, as I know that will be a stretch to find one that cheap....

If you're not absolutely set on a custom cue, though I've never had one in my hand, I've heard the Lucasi Sneaky Pete is a pretty nice cue for that kind of money.
Even if you are dead set on a custom cue, my reply will at least bump this thread back to the top of the heap for ya so some custom makers can see it. :)

Thanks, I really did want a custom, but I think Im SOL on this one, I realize my budget isnt quite high enough for one yet, so Ill have to wait, thanks again though :)

I believe Mike Zimmerman makes a nice Sneaky Pete for around that price. PM him, his screen name is "Zims Rack" I beleive.

(good idea going with custom, you wont even venture into production territoy now)

Welcome to the forum BTW.

Also check out www.primocustomcues.com These are made by a guy named Mike who posts here under the name jazzn4444. Really great guy, he is making me a Bloodwood Sneaky pete right now (see signature). I love Plain custom cues, just that look appeals to me. His are a little more then your bidget, but still very nice looking (especially the bloodwood model is is making me)

Plain Jane

Bob Owen, partner and cuemaker of Shurtz cues, here in Wichita, makes Sneaky Petes for less than $200, price varies with type of joint, and will make you a Plain Jane, and you can select from 4 types of woods, linen wrap, choice of stain color for $230.

I think one is shown on their website that is a grayish green color:

Keep me posted and good luck.,
Thanks for the plug, but I'm going to have to take you up on that bet! I've got $20 that says the cue goes for more than $200. Bet? Wait, I'll do better, how about $20 that it goes for more than $220? I don't want to get in trouble on this board, so maybe posting gambling items is forbidden. If so, then no bet! :D

Do yourself a favor, and give this guy a call or email:

Paul Allers
paul_allers@comcast.net
360.675.1408 H
360.929.8425 C (after hours, Pacific)

He can do a Hustler (fancy SP) cue for you for 175.00, or a Plain Jane for the same price. He does some really pretty HIGHLY figured cocobolo ones, with the fancy ring at the butt. He can even use the nice light brown linen phenolic for the buttcap and at the joint. He gets some really gorgeous wood! He is local to me, and he is really starting to do some very innovative designs. I own one of his Hustlers, and it got me through my 9 Ball league last year pretty darn well...hits nice.

Please note: He specializes in making 60" cues, so if you want a shorter length, you have to make sure you mention that, other wise you will get a 60" cue.

Paul is very nice to deal with, will talk your ear off about cues. If he doesn't respond to emails right away, keep bugging him....he's busy making cues...he's got a real passion for it.:D

NOW.....if you would like a conversion cue, give Brent (stix4sale) here a PM. He may be able to set you up with something very nice, for a little bit more money...depending on the conversion cue of course! I hear tell he is very easy to work with!;) :D The are quite a few AZers here that have one of his conversions, and all seem to be very happy with them. If you do a search for 'stix4sale', you will find some of the conversions he has done....in the Gallery section.

Hope this helps!!

With 2 days and 17 hours left, the bidding is at $204. I'm hoping it tops out at $275 or better. Here's a link to the eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...70013777110&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MESE:IT&rd=1
