For those who have suffered with it and play/practice pool often. Did you find the pool helped (via stretching the calf), or made it worse???

I deal with foot pain daily and stretching can help but in the end its the shoe that matters most I wear asics and my feet feel better.

Pete, for me? The only thing that helped (read saved my sanity) was buying a pair of new balance shoes with their inserts.

Went to a store and had my foot analyzed (which I think might have been voodoo) and bought a pair of their shoes.

Best decision I've made. Cured my fasciitis in a few weeks. I've never looked back.

I can give you more details if you care.

My plantar issues were caused by playing pool at home with NO SHOES for a couple of years, several hours a day. I have high arches and the podiatrist had me buy the Platinum orthotics from Bed Bath and Beyond to put in my dress shoes and every day shoes. He also recommended the Vionic flip flops with the high arch to wear at home instead of going barefoot. I went from having extreme pain to being pain free.

I don't believe Bed Bath and Beyond sell the orthotics any longer but you can find them online https://www.amazon.com/Walkfit-Platinum-Orthotics-Size-11-5/dp/B003BKTS8G
I thought my podiatrist was crazy when he recommended these but after using them for approximately 30 days, my pain was greatly reduced and today I am pain free.

Feel free to PM me if your situation is similar to mine.

I've suffered from plantar fascia issues since I was 13. The pain became excruciating about 5 years ago when I was training for a marathon.

The Strassburg Sock is the only thing that worked for me:

Once you get it, it really never goes away...
Buy quality shoes, change shoes often. Do stretches for the calves and roll a tennis ball under you feet when sitting down. Limit the amount of standing and excessive walking. And take it ad a clue to quit for the day, when it starts to hurt bad

:thumbup:I am a runner also and have had PF in both feet at various times. The Strassburg sock worked well for me also.

My Dr. recommended Brooks running shoes and a high quality plantar inserts. Solved my problems.

The last time I had it there was no warning at all. I got out of bed and collapsed from the pain.

Plantar Fascia, from the Latin meaning face of the plant, or as when you plant your foot on the ground with the face of your foot, can be a problem for millions of people world-wide. When inflammation occurs it is called: Plantar Faciitis.
The most common cause of Plantar Fasciitis, is obesity. Weight loss almost always brings about a cessation of symptoms, but, as in my case, an injection of cortisone, and weight loss, brought about remission. :)
