after reading so many negative posts on here about all the drunks and a**holes there are in leagues everywhere i would like to give my opinion about my experience in my 1st year in apa and my 1st city tournament.

i have made several friends and havent met any one who i would say is a real a**hole.

friday night at the cities i met my 1st drunk. a young guy who must have been friends with a few on the oppossing team came up to them while my gf was shooting and said in a loud voice that there was a girl on the other side of the room was so hot that he got a hard on just looking at her. i got up and told him that there were women present and that a match was in progress and that if he didnt straighten up i would have him thrown out. he apologized and left the area.

kudos goes out to the lo for a well run tournament. congrats to the hall owner for doing his best to provide for the huge crowd. thanks to all the players who were so polite and courteous despite being packed in like sardines with with barely adequate seating. i would suggest having 8 ball 1 week and 9 ball the next week if possible. the place just wasnt big enough for the large crowd and its the biggest place in town.

last but not least a big congrats to my gf . she is the only one on our team that went undefeated in her matches.

Good post.

Funny how there are plenty of us who have a perfectly fine experience with league (whichever version, but to include APA) yet to many a pool leagues is nothing but drunks, troublemakers and people who don't care about pool or how they do.

Many of us have fun with league, and we enjoy it. We don't think we've lost money playing leagues. It is a good poolplaying experience. We try to get better.

Keep posting here, Lorider. We can certainly use more positive folks on the forum.

thanks dub. i always enjoy your posts. i havent been on this forum long but i have never seen a negative post from you in any thread. there are a lot of good guys in this forum but you are one of the good ones that stick out the most in my opinion.

Cool, glad you had a good time. My APA team is all family so we just play for fun. Its usually a good time but there is usually one azz a session.

I've been playing in the APA for over 10 years and I believe 99% of the members are nice people who enjoy playing the game of pool. Of course, there is always the one AH that tries to ruin the experience for others.

As for those who describe pool leagues as nothing but drunks, troublemakers and people who don't care about pool, they are usually referring to themselves.

you are always going to have some one acting that way any time booze is served, no matter what sport you are involved in. like i said i have been playing league for a year now and that is the 1st incident i have witnessed. i dont think this guy was even playing in the tournament, i never saw him again after he apologized and left.
