I didn't know such a thing existed. The PGA has Player Impact Bonuses (link at bottom). Pays out $40 friggin mil!

And the Fedex Cup is paying out $60 mil this week.

That's in addition to the official tournament purse earnings.

Pretty big money in golf!

I saw the PGA money list today that showed the top 250 and the average is $1.5 mil. Of course, that does not include sponsor money or endorsements. Nor... expenses!

The very top players drive viewership and tournament attendance. Which in turn drives advertising revenue.

Golf has major filling of people, when Phoenix Open is going that weeks close to 500,000 people go to watch in person all days combined. Admission use to be $35.00/person/day.
