Hey there, i was just wondering how many members there are around me.

I usually play at Time Square and Annex. I have yet to visit VIP.

Where do you addicts usually play at? .

Edit : How ironic, my 11th post :). As you can tell i'm a little obsessed with the number 11. Its my birthday, November 11 :) no joke!

i love times square got to meet the owner's cue supplier and test like 20 of his cues once. but its kinda far from my place so i dont go too often. where is the annex? is it on spadina? i usually play at mix2 and club kennedy. they both suck, not really pool halls, just a place full of pool tables lol. i heard rivoli is a good place too but never been there. also been to spadina billiards which sucks. coronation sucks as well. i never been to sharkys although thats where all the pros play apparently. i dont even know where it is.

i dont know the other places you mentioned guys. =(

i only go to time square, v.i.p and sometimes in danny green?

Some of the best players from Time Square go to the tournaments at Danny Greens.

I've been meaning to go there myself, but havent gone yet.

Annex is at bathurst and bloor.

Hit me up if you guys are gonna go Time square or somthing lol.

It's 10 dollars the whole day on Sunday and Wednesday. ;) .

March break so it'll be packed.....
.

Spadina Billiards is garbage......

times square..i've never been there in years. do they still have that moinday night tournament? I usually play at le spot 10$ flat rate half price on tuesday. sometimes i'll hit shooters.

they still have tournaments running at shooters.... your right the chicken fried rice is all i order there. come to think of it i should join the tournament...it's been years since i played in one

Time Square - 356 Yonge Street

It's roughly in between Dundas and College. They havent had those Monday tournaments for a while now, a few years back from what I've heard...

Some friends of mine played at Shooters, but it's kinda far for me.

I thought I'd revive this post...

I probably know some of you guys from Time Square I'm pretty regular there. I haven't been to VIP in ages... I'm not fond of their tables. Rivoli has some pretty interesting tables, old 60s brunswicks. I was there a couple of months ago, reasonably fast tables but the lighting's pretty dim. Coronation used to be pretty good when they had good turnouts for their tournaments, but last I went a while back they didn't have too many players and the tables weren't all that well maintained (a shame to let gold crowns go to waste). Shooters is still shooters, they get great turnouts for their tournaments.

I used to live in scarberia and frequented Shooters everyday...played dueces & gin with the other regulars. Oh yes, and I also played 9-ball...this was about 10 years ago - where the monday night tournaments would attract over 40 players. I still drop by here and there and the monday tournaments still attract a good number, but not enough to compare with the past. No more deuces games, just a few gin and backgammon games in the background...times sure have changed. silver tip, silver cup are also great pool halls to play in. IMHO a great pool hall is defined by how they promote the game (tournaments, equipment maintenance & staff). And Shooters, Silve Tip, Silver Cup all have these qualities. I never really frequented Times Square to play pool, but I did have many late night gin sessions with Tommy. Times Square is a great place to hang out downtown...but I heard rumors that it is now closed down :(

never found a room in the Toronto area I ever liked, still can't find GCIV or Diamond anywhere but the replicas are all over, half the room in the city have come and gone

Spherical Arts-tables never played well

Landmark Billiards-crappy dufferin tables with a crappier motif, wasn't surprised when it went belly up

Shooters-Scarborough, Scarborough, Scarborough, need I say more?

Blues and Cues-tried to be THE super upscale joint, crashed and burned

Avalon in Oakville-wanna be upscale, Brunswick Centurions with obscene grey nappy cloth

Queen Street billiards in Brampton that's been around forever and attempted to be a "player"s room, best thing about it was the strip club across the way

Arizonas-free pool back in the day with 1/2 price appetizers, worst equipment in the history of planet earth

JJ Cues-woohoo, more Dufferins
Norma Jeas-wooohoo, more Dufferins
Crooked Cue-Dufferin paradise

Anything downtown-too expensive, too "wanna be trendy"

I could go on all night..........

Toronto just ain't a player's city

My top three favorites in Toronto would be.
Danny Greens ( Danforth & Greenfield )
Shooters ( not sure the address )
Silver cue ( Victoria park & Danforth )

You dont't like Shooters, how could you not like a dozen or more gold crowns and on any given monday night tournament there could be Alex P, Cliff T, Mario Morra, John Morra, Raymond Cruz, Jeff WHite, Jason Klatt, Eric Hjorlifson.

Are Jason and Eric hanging out in Toronto now ?

I was born in Canada and grew up in Scarborough. Left Canada in 1977 for Miami and have only been back one time in 85 for a funeral. Is Scarborough a real dump now? Has my old town become the main Hood in Toronto or something?

Btw when I came back to Toronto in 1985, I went downtown to shop and was looking to play some nineball. Snooker was the only game in town still and one snooker room downtown had a single REALLY crooked bar table. The regulars all sneered at me when I asked who wanted to play some $10 or 20 nineball. They referred to the bar table as "The kiddie table". I shot two racks on the table and gave up. It was really terrible, like playing on a ship in 10 ft seas.
