Do you find that sometimes you play better after a short break? Until a few weeks ago I was playing every day and slowly improving my game but for the past 2 weeks I have been working a lot and I have not been able to practice much. last night I picked up my cue and started shooting around some and for some reason I barely missed a shot. I could see all the angles nice and clear. I knew how hard to hit the ball for position, I just felt really comfortable at the table. Best I have played in months. can taking a break hell your game?

Sometimes you forget all of your negatives when you lay off for a while and of your excuses. Don't let them back!

In order to execute a hard shot correctly there are at least 10-15 check list items that has to run through your brain quick if you missed one it is possible to miss the shot; the most important is focus of all, i agree, i have noticed focus is strong after few days being off, but unfortunately does not last long maybe an hour to two top!

I just came back after a month layoff, due to knee replacement. I found myself more willing to try (and make) some kick shots and banks that I would have passed on, before. Part of it was the fact that I had cleared my mind, and gave myself the chance to see where I was at that point. Everything seemed sharp and fresh.
I think retaining your confidence is importantly too. I doubt if I would have had such a good time, if I had been worried about the layoff. I mentally committed myself to believing the vacation was a good thing.
