Playing Cue Jim Buss 4 Pointer

This has been my playing cue since I received it from Jim in 2006. I'm currently looking into getting J/Ps made to match it :)

Anyone have advice on how to best clean it up? I read the thread about how to clean the blueing on the shaft.. Does anyone have advice on how to get the dirt and stuff out from the flat part on the male part of the joint?

Thought I'd take some pictures and post them after having her for about 3 years...

nice....

this is my favorite buss to date....really nice..congrats on a great cue and i bet it players great...mickey carroll ps that second shaft looks like a real player

Nice cue, If your really unsure of how to clean it up and remove the chalk from the shafts why no just take it to a cuemaker or good repairman and have them do it. Chances are they will make it look as good as the day you got it,,,,it wont cost that much and then you will be happy . good luck and happy new year <<<ED

I'm getting J/Ps made to match the cue. The Blue Book says Jim Buss used 3/8 X 10 Radial pin. Can anyone confirm from the photo I posted whether or not that is indeed the pin used? It rings a bell from when I ordered the cue from Jim but I can't be sure..

Help needed..

Thanks

Don't waste time & don't take chances. Send it to Jim. He's a great guy, I hear he does real nice jp's, and you'll get all the info & top knotch work you want or need - and from the guy that made the cue.
Great cue one way or another!

Great cue one way or another!

Thanks for all the kind words guys.. I designed the cue, drew it up on a piece of paper, scanned it and sent it to Jim Buss. He was fantastic. He inlayed the cue, decided it wasn't done right, and redid it. Perfectionist.

I'd love to send it back to Jim Buss ..unfortunately, I've been in contact with him and the price he charges for J/Ps is a little out of my price range.. Working with Jim Baxter now to see if I can get a simple but elegant set made.. JB is fantastic to work with and super helpful.. His work looks great.

Anyone know a good cue maker / repairman around Los Angeles that could clean up the shaft for me?

Go to the Ask The Cuemaker forum & you'll get all the help you need. Baxter will make you some nice jp's.

Jim Baxter JPs for my Jim Buss

Jim Baxter and Christy were so kind as to make me Joint Protectors for my Buss player. I love them. What do you think. The BEM they used is much more figured so it stands out from the cue itself..

Ivory sets it off too..

Long shot here, but has anyone seen this cue recently? Commissioned it from Jim back in early 2000s and foolishly let it go after I went to college. Looking for it again to repurchase.
