Playing in the Pro Tour...

Hey guys,

I have been playing pool since I was about 6 years old, and now I am 20. Pretty much ever since I was able to reach the table, I have had a cuestick in my hand. I have been playing in a BCA sanctioned league for 5 years now. I have been around the 70% mark the entire season. I have had dreams of becoming pro for a while now, and I really think that I have what it takes.

I have been on the UPA website, and have read what there is to read. Apparently the cost to register with them is 100$, which is completely reasonable. This would be a full time thing is my understanding, my question though is how do the pros get someone to invest in them for travel expenses, meals, benefits, etc?

I figured that it had to have something to do with a sponsorship of some sort, but how would I go about qualifying for this? I am going to be in Las Vegas in May for the BCA Nationals tournament, I figured that if I do well in that tournament I will probably be on the right track. Any input is greatly appreciated all.

Thanks

- Tommy
