playing pool in a computer software / Cellphone

Hi All,

I was wondering if it's a good idea to play pool using a computer software.

Pros: it aligns your visuals correctly
Cons: it messes up your aiming

Let me know what are your pros and cons.

P.S, i'm using Celeris Virtual Pool. I'm playing with an android device.

Remember, it's not pool. It's a video game. The worst it will do is take time away from you practicing and playing real pool. It's your time, do what's important to you and do that which makes you happy. You can play video pool all you want, you're not going to improve at the real game till you put time in on a table with a real cue and real balls.

I've got ProPool 2012 which is a free iPhone app. You can pay to upgrade for more games, no ads, etc. but it comes free with 10-ball on a 9-foot table.

It's a great time-waster. Better than reading a 3-year old Sports Illustrated at the dentist's office.

The only glaring error I can find in the app is that balls come off the cushion quite a bit faster than they went in. It's almost comical when a ball rattles out of the pocket and almost comes back to center-table. But it's fun nonetheless.
