I've been working to lock down my playing set for a while now.

First cue to fall into place was my Gilbert. Picked it up a couple years ago now I think and it's been serving me well ever since. Felt right from day one, breaks great and jumps great. Used to carry a separate jump cue but I actually prefer this for all but the tightest jumps so I've decided to stop carrying the other for 3 times a year I actually used it.

Next was my Runde. This is the only cue I've ever custom ordered and it came in last September. It's exactly what I wanted, a simple no-nonsense playing cue. I toyed around with other cues since getting this, afraid to subject this to the knocks that could come from league, but finally decided to just let it happen if it's going to happen. It wasn't bringing me near as much joy having it at home in a case as it does using it at the table. Also been toying around with LD shafts so I ordered a OB Classic+ in a joint diameter to match this which should be coming in soon. But for now I'm actually loving my micarta ferruled 12mm Runde shaft so we'll see how it goes.

Finally the Fields case. I've been on the hunt for a Fields case for a while and could never find the right one. dvs here on the forum saw my wanted posting and offered this one up. At first I wasn't sure because of the lack of a long pocket for my jump butt, however I loved everything else about the case it finally convinced me to ditch the dedicated jump cue when I realized I couldn't remember the last time I pulled it out in a match. According to the original post on here this was Chuck's prototype when he switched to the JB interior and he used it for a while. It's a great case, pictures don't do the leather justice! Big thanks to Dave for contacting me and letting me finally get my hands on a Fields case.

Sorry, that's a lot to read, but I'm just very happy to finally have all the pieces in place for my playing kit.

For those who don't want to read it all, below is:

Nice kit. I really like that Fields case. I was not fortunate enough to get one before he stopped making them. Hoping he may resume someday.

Very nice set. I wish I could make up my mind. I have 12 cues to alternate with and have another custom being built as we speak. As far as my case I have 5 of them but looking at ordering another one that will become my always use case. It will end up being my most expensive case but it's going to be fully made to my specs by Karen & John.
