Plea to the IPT

I am very happy that the IPT has been created and there will be more pool on TV. Clearly, a lot of time and effort was put into producing the Sigel vs Jones match for television. I expect that each televised event created by the IPT will get better and better. The televised events are created to appeal to a wide audience, and I certainly do not fault you for that. In the long run, the more people your event can attract to the game the better it will be for all of us.

That being said, I have a plea to the IPT. No matter how well produced the matches, hard core fans will want more. While I understand the IPT exists as a marketing vehicle and is designed to support the players, I would like to humble ask for one additional for us hard core fans: start broadcast the matches live via the Internet. I thought the model used by the US Open was excellent. Sell subscriptions to each event and choose a couple of interesting match ups to broadcast each day. I doubt this would be much of a money maker, but it would go a long way in pleasing the true fans of the game.
