Please could all you pool experts help me on finding a cue ?
Hey everyone

Been reading around for a whilst, this is my first post.

I just have an 8 foot American 9-ball table at home. I don’t play seriously or at any club etc seeing 9-ball is so small over here

I would like to get a new cue, all I play with is this lame one I bought off eBay which cost me around 15 pounds = 22 dollars or 22 euros. But it just feels weird and it sucks. I really don’t know where to look to find a cue :S

I was wandering if someone had any sites or anyone made a cue that just hit nice. If you know what I mean. I am looking for something in between 0-100 pounds = 0-150 dollars

This will be my first proper cue

I cant find any online uk shops which sell uk cues! Been on google all day

Thank you all

Sorry if this was a waste of time
Peace

Ed

Not a waste of time just a bit of a tough request. To some, a pool cues is a very personalized item. Personal preference in looks, feel, weight. what might hit good to one person might hit poorly to another. It's almost like saying " find me a woman ". There are TONS of web sites. that legitimately sell cues. If you are just starting out you can get a cuetech or mcdermott or something for the money you have to spend. Work your way up from there.

For a playing cue, the shaft is the most important consideration, followed by balance, IMHO. That said, here's my recomendation in your price range:

http://www.vikingcue.com/pages/cues/f98.html

Viking cues have a nice shaft and many options, so you can have it just the way you like it. 19oz is a good middle weight to start with, if you don't yet have a feel for what you like.

Check Seybert's, Billiard Warehouse, Hawley's, Paltinum Billiards, Ozone, and Pool Dawg for good prices.

Hi,

I would highly recommend trying a Dufferin sneaky pete. They're less than $100 USD, have nice shafts and tips. They are well made and you can even find them with a nice selection of wood butts. I have seen them ranging from oak to cocobolo. Their points are as nice as you'll find in a sneaky pete. Even though they don't have a lot of frills, I would rather play with a good hitter and a cue that feels good in your hands than a fancier model that wasn't as well made. Good luck!

Regards,

Steve

My opinion is that you should check out Jacoby. They have a better reputation than other cues you can find in that price range. That down side is that it won't be anything special to look at, if that matters to you. Look at the C-1 on this site. http://www.omegabilliards.com/html/jacoby.html It falls in your range, although it may not after having it shipped. I'm not sure of their policies on shipping overseas.

overseas shipping is where your going to run into a problem on a cheap cue if you buy it in the us.. shipping could be more then the cue is worth.. your better off taking peoples recomendations and looking in your area for it..

good luck..

yeh , like this cue i found 70 dollars.. shipping is 86 dollars.

i have a friend in usa who i could ship it to,then he ships it over here.

but... you see, i cant find anyone in the uk who knows where i can get cues from.

I have my eye on this one :

what you think ?

And don't forget that if you can't find UK shops there are a lot of online shops in other EU countries. If you can find something inside EU you'll save a lot in shipping+VAT+custom fees.
