I recently bought this cue off ebay and was surprised with the quality of the work. It has a leather wrap. no points. just 3 mother of pearl dots above and below the wrap. On the white delrin???? butt cap is has the initials GC in black engraved. it looks to have an ivory type joint collar on it. any help in identifying this cue would be greatly appreciated. I am going to get Mike Webb From Webb cues to price out a refinish on it. Thanks for whatever help you can give me.......................................mike

Didn't Ernie Gutierrez use "GC" as a signature logo on his early cues?

David "The Hamster" Malone.

Just My 2 Cents, But It Looks Like A Cue That Was Made Overseas.

Ernie Named His Company Ginacue After His Daughter, Even His Very Early Cues To My Knowledge Were Marked With Ginacue. I've Seen Cues That Were Authenticated As Being In His First 10 Built And They Were Marked Ginacue.

It's Actually Greg Sirca, Gs Cues.

"Between 1961 to 1973, Ernie starts to engrave Gina Cue on all his billiard cues. In 1988, he uses the initial of GC for the logo of the billiard cues he made."

Found a reference on Google...

I wonder if he used GC on his first primitive attempts to build a usable cue?

I GUESS IT MAY BE SOMEWHAT POSSIBLE, BUT I REALLY DOUBT IT. I AM RELATIVELY SURE THAT EVEN HIS FIRST CUE HAD THE GINACUE BAND ABOVE THE BUTTSLEEVE. THE GC HE USES NOW IS VERY VERY VERY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IS ON THIS CUE.

Well, FWIW, I really don't think it's a Gina either - just trying to figure out what the GC could possibly stand for... maybe it belonged to someone's wife and it's a "Girly-Cue"?

I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP. MY GUESS IS THAT THE GC ON THE BUTT CAP ARE THE INITIALS OF SOMEONE WHO OWNED THE CUE AT SOME POINT. BUT WHO KNOWS.

the length, the weight, and tip size?

Well the weight is roughly 19 3/4 ounces it is 57 inches long and the tip is about 12 3/4 mm. I myself don't believe it is a Gina Cue. But i found it a very interesting cue that is straight and hits pretty well. thanks to everybody for their thoughts. maybe someday someone wil see it and say " I made that cue"...one can only hope....lolol..............mike

I've seen Ernies first few cues and yes they do say Ginacue on them, the GC that Hamster is speaking of is the fancy GC script we see now on the butt of the cues, it's a GC although to us it's just the Ginacue logo.

I would also like to add, why refinish?? It looks pretty good and the wrap is part of what makes the cue, I say keep it as is.
