Please help me with a decision!

Will any of you cue experts out there give me some advice as to what I should do about my new Rambow? The pin is slightly bent...it makes it look like the shaft is bent when I have them together but the shaft is fairly straight.

The pin is bent enough though...that when they are together, it makes it look like a very large warp. I don't know if I should leave it the way it is or try to get one of three or four great cuemakers in Houston to fool with it???

Would I be devalueing the cue if I have it worked on?

Pick one of the cuemakers and take the cue to him and he will see what needs to be done, great cue by the way.--Leonard

It can probably be fixed without any evidence of doing so. Take it to a qualified cue man, and don't let him shine the brass up. I am suprised that it got bent though, with so little of the pin protruding from the brass collar... Maybe it got dropped with the shaft only half way un-screwed, or dropped into a case pin side down. Is there a leather wrap that is making the butt bump when rolled?

Let me know if you want to sell it some day. I have a few Rambow's myself.

The pin may or may not be bent. I can't 100% confirm from the pic.
The joint collar could have moved or maybe you just need the joint faces re-cut.
If you value the cue and I'm sure you do, take it to a qualified CM and have him evaluate the condition. Don't 'chance' it. Get it done right.

First off, how did you prove the screw is bent?? Even a just barely bent screw will pull down tight at the faces of the joint. I agree totally with KJ. May only need refacing. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing. It's too important a cue to guess about. It's also a delight to see another Rambow. Good luck with it.

I'm with the other guys. Until you get it in the hands is a qualified repair man you won't know. I can tell you 2 things about them old cues. Often times the collars absorbed moisture swelled up and moved or came loose and fell off. Maybe it was reguled

Either way a simple face can fix it.

2 the cues never had a straight taper or smooth lines. Leather wrap or screwy taper can make a cue roll really bad. It may be straighter then u think

Those are a few of the problems I've encountered with them cues. Rare to see a pin bent unless it way dropped or misused really badly.
