Dear AZers,
Please join us in celebrating Belinda’s birthday month!
Belinda Calhoun is a professional pool player who joined the women’s tour back in 1977. Now a resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Belinda grew up in Texas where she enthusiastically supported our sport. She was the founder of the Austin Area Pool Players Association, the Texas Association of Billiard Leagues and the Southern Association of Billiard Leagues enjoyed by both men and women players. It was during this time period Belinda became known as the Texas Belle.
A Board member of both the Woman's Professional Billiards Association (WPBA) and the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA), Belinda has contributed to both the quality and growth of the sport. More than an organizer, she has many titles to her credit and has hovered in the top rankings for over thirty plus years. Among them are 81 & 84 BCA National 8-ball Champion; 83 & 86 Classic Cup Champion; 83 River City Open Champion; 85 World Straight Pool Champion; 85 U.S. Open Champion; 85 WPBA National Champion; ’87 NPCA National 8-ball Champion; 8-time Texas State Open Champion; Illinois State Champion; 2-time Huebler Cup Champion; 4-time HOTT Tour Champion; 4-time Fast Eddie’s Tour Champion.
It has been my pleasure to have been friends with Belinda since 1980 (and it seems like only yesterday).
Many more happy years to you, Belinda.
