Its not really teaching its more about noticing! Like if you never put your stick down when your not shooting or you always keep your hand closed things like that you have to be able to notice. I live in Va as you can tell!! it gets pretty humid here in the summer and I got tired of getting the talc and powder all over the table and myself it just makes a mess. So I tried this and I never have to use a glove or talc!!
I'm in NC here, so i know all about things being humid.
I don't hold my cue with my bridge hand, and if i'm holding it, it's down at the joint with my grip hand.
And the wax i use on my shafts is a big help too .
And if things get really bad, i have the old standby.... the glove

About the sweaty hand thing. I got my doc to prescribe me some DRYSOL, which I apply about twice a week. I could go out jogging in the middle of the day in the middle of summer, my whole body would be drenched EXCEPT MY HANDS! Dry as paper. Worked wonders for my game.
About the tip burnishing thing. Go to a cuemaker and see if you can get a joint screw that matches the one on your cue. Chuck it into your cordless drill, screw on your shaft, and you have a one-arm portable lathe. Put a dab of cue wax on a napkin, pinch it tight on the edge of your tip with one hand, and hit the trigger of your cordless drill (lathe) with the other hand. The more speed the better. When the napkin gets hot, you're done. Burnishers beware - too much burnishing and your tip can get so brittle that you might lose a chunk while shooting.
Even a layered tip can break apart like this, but you will probably only have to burnish a Moori like once a year at most.

Cue cleaning $ sealing
Best thing around is Armorall leather wipes. Cleans everthing fom the linen to the shaft..Keep it off the leather tip.
Really..You wont believe how well this works for cleaning & sealing.
Also a business card works great for raising a mushroomed tip (Also burishes).
