Pocket nail head protection

I was looking for something to protect my balls from the nails that hold my pockets in. I had to put two nails in to keep the pockets from moving and originally had hot glue on the heads but that kept leaving gluish marks in my balls. I ended up finding this adhesive leather repair stuff from Amazon and seems to have done the truck...so far. In case anyone else was looking. Would also work on leather pockets since it's made for leather

That is a must do. I use small round self stick felt pads.

How long have the pads been in place? I'd be concerned that they might not stick to the plastic pockets for very long. If they do, it looks like a great affordable solution to a very common problem. I could never understand that some table manufacturers design tables with pockets attached by nails - right in the path of the balls!

Only a day. Lol. I'll keep this thread updated as time goes on.

I hear ya! Wish there was a way to keep them attached tight without nails or screws in the stock locations.

The felt pads I'm using have been on for years... I simply give them an occasional visual. I'm sure they are available in black.

Two questions:

1. Why do you have nails on Gold Crown screw in pocket liners?
2: Why are you covering up the allen heads that hold the liners in place? They are recessed so they won't come into contact with balls.

The rails were extended and the pockets were less than flush. Enough to annoy me. I told the tech to use brads. He sort of gave me a look but did not object. I honestly did not know better at the time. I’m learning. The install was 2010.

The edge of the recessed allen head hole was slightly distorted from the original hack job set up. The edges of the hole are rough not that it could damage the balls. I could blunt with a Dremel. Pads are most likely not needed and an overkill but do not bother me.

You could 3D print TPU plugs that would fit into the allen head and make the pocket flush instead of recessed. The pictured example is plugs I made for a motorcycle allen head........simple press fit plug......could easily be modifed to press fit into the recessed hole using the allen head.....but I don't see the need since it is recessed...(other than perhaps keep the dust out)

If you have a nail in and even if the hole is distorted...you could design a distorted plug...or measure and cut one from a piece of rubber I guess.

I think just for the fun of it I may make some for my GC.....make them offsetting white plugs...perhaps they will act like aiming beacons....:ROFLMAO:
