How tight or loose were the pockets in pro tournaments? Some say they were loose (5"), some say they were very tight, under 4 1/2". I know that back in Greenleafs era they were very tight, I have a tape showing a clip of Greenleaf playing in the 1925 World Championships, it's only about 45 seconds or so but on one shot they show a fairly close shot of a ball being pocketed in the corner pocket and it was a VERY small pocket, I mean the ball was practically the same size as the pocket. Did they get looser at some point between then and the 50's or 60's?
