How do you clean/polish your pool balls for home use?

Just curious, do you ever go play in a bar/poolroom? Reason i ask is you might want to let the balls get a little more dirty from time-to-time. Get used to 'real world' conditions. If you go play in a tourn. somewhere i guarantee you won't see conditions like what one may have at home. FIFTEEN sets of balls?? Really. Wow.
I have a cheap set that I don't clean for the authentic bar experience, I just need a cue ball with a divot, a jack under one table leg, and I'm set. I have a set of Aramith Premiums that I keep clean for when I want the tournament experience.

Honestly, this depends on how they are cleaned. The alcohol / Aramith mixture leaves the balls more "squeaky clean" than Aramith alone and they actually are very clean, but throw quite a bit more. Dr. Dave did a really good video on throw impact of various cleaning methods. His video showed that balls cleaned with just alcohol throw A LOT. The Alcohol / Aramith spray mixture in my machine produces a throw about equal to that of a set new out of the box. Aramith cleaned balls clearly throw less, and balls cleaned with silicone compounds almost don't throw at all, but that changes as the cleaner residue wears off the balls in his video. The Alcohol / Aramith mixture was not part of his test though.
Yes that’s correct. I was just thinking if my set up when I made that post.

Your in-depth post I agree with and I think most others will as well. Great post

Fatboy<——-keeping his balls clean since day 1 😉

Diamond Dual Platter here. Worked hard to buy it and love it. If they offered a seat cushion for it then it could be a piece of furniture as a bonus.

Hardly ever see them in the used market, but that goes for most ball cleaning machines. Buy once, keeps it forever.

Didn't vote because there's no spot for the single ball Aramith polisher. I touch up the cue ball each day. All the others stay pretty damn clean in a home environment.

Apply a small amount of cleaner in a zip lock bag.I used stainless steel polish, the only thing I had on hand. Rub one ball at a time in bag and a quit buff on dry rag, done. Didn't even need to wash my hands when finished.
Bad choice.

Bad choice.
Zep Stainless Steel Polish ingredients. It's not a good idea to use petroleum products to clean phenolic plastic.
