I saw this guy named Pookie play Bucktooth at California billiards a couple of years ago. I believe he beat Bucktooth. He's a young asian guy from the midwest I believe. What's the story on this guy? I'm not sure if he's as good as Tony Chohan but he's a solid player. :D

I think Pookie Rasmeloungon (sp?) is a Filipino. So, if he is a Filipino, I'm probably willing to stake him against Chohan. Just on principle.

On a side note: Is Tony Chohan as arrogant as he seems to be?

Stake against Chohan? I'll bet 500 on Chohan at 1-pocket giving 9-8.

Chohan is arrogant, but with good reason.

I was just being facetious, Steven. I know Pookie can't hang with Chohan just because of his mediocre 9 ball results. Don't get me wrong, he is probably a fine player, but doesn't seem to be able to consistently get there in tournaments.

Chohan is arrogant, but with good reason.

Really? With good reason? Well, Efren is a whole lot better than Tony, and he's not arrogant. Not sure what the correlation is supposed to be between playing good and being arrogant.

Nick Varner historically has been much better in all games than Tony is, or is likely to be. He's not arrogant.

Please explain your second statement, por favor..

Yah vagabond,

I was just kidding around a bit. I thought he was Filipino, so I made the offhand comment about betting on him if he was. I knew he was not ready for prime time yet, because he continues to place in the 10th-17th range in regional events...

Pookie has won a few stops and there ain't much tougher competition than the tours that he plays on regularly unless you go to the phillipines and that just my opinion, but I'll bet on Chohan if they were to play either game.--Leonard

pookie & Scott Frost

does anybody remember how Pookie was playing Scot Frost at the Open a couple of years ago. I know they played just about every day. i believe both even forfeited out of the Open that year because they were playing each other.......mike

I would really like to see Tony T Rex Chohan playing some even up 10 ball with Will Bilbrey on some wet sloppy tables in the Florida heat for a few bananas. And I call that a pickem any where but Florida , but because of the humidity and playing there so much I like Will in Fla.--Leonard

The word " Bucktooth" is in this thread, I'm amazed that cornfed hasn't picked this up on his radar yet:D

Pooky is a friend of mine. He called me yesterday to check on how I was doing.

He is a great talent at pool. He was into pokey for several years but is getting back into pool. Yes, Pooky was playing $10,000 sets with Scott Frost at the US OPEN a few years back of which they both forfeited their matches. I think Frost was giving him 10-7, 9-7 and after several days/nights of consistent play Frost ended up one set ahead.

Pook did bust the TOOTH...but the Tooth didn't know Pooky, so didn't realize he couldn't win from the beginning (even that is).

Pooky snapped off a pro 10 ball event in FL a few years back, crusing through worldbeaters like they were nothing. (Betting as much as $2500 on the side in some of those matches)

The guy has a lot of talent and a big heart, and in my opinion - if he keeps playing - one pocket is his best game by far. He plays real tight, conservative, but will take and make the hard shots when they come - for the cheese.

Pooky is still getting his stroke back, but if the game is fair I know he will play.

BUCKTOOTH satd POOKIE got ACTION anytime he comes to CALIF. The last time he was in CALI. he beat Bucktooth but he quit he could have one BIG $$$$$$$

I think Pookie is from Virginia IIRC. About Will Bilbrey playing Chohan- to be honest I had no idea who Bilbrey was until I saw a couple of his matches on propoolvideo.com. The guy is a rock solid, jam-up player! Him vs Chohan would be a great matchup. If Will plays for money as great as he does in those tour stops, it would be hard for me to bet against him, but then again Chohan has a really high gear, so it would probably come down to who gets more shots on the lowball after the break IMO.
