Jennifer,
Just a note of appreciation for joining the forum. The true pool fanatics really appreciate the opportunity to get the professionals view of events. We would very much like a little background on your pool game - how long you have been playing, equipment used, and how you developed your current level of proficiency.

Unfortunately, I am looking forward with great trepidation to the remainder of the "Silliest Mistakes." While you may have made all these mistakes at one time, I am very fearful that I have made them all in the space of 1 game. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait and see.

I saw you play in Peoria the last 2 years (where you did quite well). Last year I did get to meet Stu M. over lunch (friend of a friend), he didn't admit to being of any use as a mentor, but he did speak very highly of your skills. Good luck in Peoria this year.

Hi Williebetmore,

Six years ago in June was when I first started playing pool. I was playing casually one night when I got the bug. I was pretty terrible, but when I was down on the shot something suddenly occurred to me...if I pictured the cueball directly behind the object ball in line with the pocket I could aim more accurately (of course now I know this is the ghost ball theory). Suddenly I was making shots I never made before, and I was hooked. The very next day I called around for lessons and found a pool school at a local pool hall on Monday nights. I did that for 6 months before moving on to one-on-one instruction with Tony Robles (2004 BCA Champion...GO TONY!!). After 2 years with Tony he recommended that I play pool with Stu Mattana because he knew so much about the game. Playing with him occasionally turned into a 3 year mentorship that has brought my game to the professional level where I am currently ranked 22nd, and still rising (hopefully)!

To answer your question about equipment, I use Predator products, and I really love them.

If you are in Peoria again this year, make sure you introduce yourself. I like to put a face with the name.

Jennifer
