well hell, sure have been a lot of these criss-cross sets show up recently.
Just three weeks ago there were two sets in an online auction, one sold for $50 and the other for $51

Thanks. They were unplayed until I used them for half a rack and then realized they're quite the busy ball to shoot at.

That set is exceedingly rare and very desirable indeed, sir. Only a few sets were cast by Aramith, all of which were sent to Japan.
If I didn’t already own an example I would be prepared to pay high dollar for these balls. I sought them exhaustively for years before succeeding.

I tried to buy those balls, I made an offer, the guy replied and tried to get me to make an offer outside of eBay. He even tried to send me a separate link. Which I did not open of course. When I refused to go that route he marked the auction as out of stock. A very fishy transaction. I would beware of that seller.

Please let us know if you ever get them. I tried to purchase yesterday and he pulled some funny business. Were you able to do it straight through eBay Or did he get you to go another route?

I purchased them through a proxy site in Japan so they will either turn up or I’ll get my money back. I’ve never had any problems using this service before.

Alas, it is the nature of any collecting beast to be ruthless at times. For my own sins, once a rare set is found I endeavour to balance karma by working hard to find duplicate examples for other enthusiasts.
