Pool Ball Polishing Question

Ok I have a friend that just called and he took his set of pool balls to one of the local pool halls we play at twice a week. Since we are good customers and friends with the general manager they told him the would polish the pool balls in thier machine if he brought them in. To make a long story short after they came out of the machine and wiped witha cloth they appear to have really bad spotting sort of like water spots that were not there before polishing. I doubt he has aramith balls. What may cause this to happen and can the spotting be removed. If anyone has encountered this issue let me know. I gave him a another cheap set several months back that were new in the box. If all else fails i will tell him to use the onse i gave him.

Have you tried to wipe them off?
Maybe he isnt using polish compound, but is using a little bit of dish soap.
Maybe his machine needs to be taken apart and cleaned and new pads put in.

No offense to your friend

He did try to wipe them off. He said polishing compound was used.

But it sounds like cheap balls to me, like the ones u get with Sears tables.

Thats what I thought too. I am sure they are a cheap set you get a sporting good store. I just did not want to give mis information to him.
