Pool balls at local bar are terrible?

I donated a used set of Aramith Pro balls of mine to a bar that I used to go to often to practice at. I told them that they should vacuum the table every day, but nobody would ever clean the table. So in a couple of months, my nice set of Aramith Pro balls were all fuzzy with dirt.

I don't even go to that bar anymore, but I'm quite certain that nobody would know that they're playing with a set of $200+ balls.

Also beware that on an older Valley you may be playing with a cue ball that is LARGER than a normal ball.

This obviously effects the way that, well, basically everything plays.

The Aramith ball cleaner would work but its a bit laborious to do by hand, and you'd likely have to do it every time you go to the bar.

Bar owner might hook you up privately on free pool if you maintain the equipment. I used to bring my vacuum and damp cloth the local table and wash the balls by hand. In return I got a night of open table once a week on Monday night (slow time) fair trade in my opinion!

It was good to see you out at the 21 Friday night. The more time you spend on those Diamond tables with those clean Aramith Pro balls, the more you'll dislike typical bar room table conditions. Jimmy keeps the balls clean at thr 21. He has a fancy spinning ball cleaner. Now if I could talk him into a separate air conditioner where the 9ft tables are, I'd give the place 5 Stars. It feels a little warm over there for gambling, but I survive, so I rate it a good 4 star establishment. If I'm winning, maybe 4.5 stars....lol.

Was good to see you too, man. I agree, it was a little swampy over there but that's where the best players in the room were so the heat was worth the free education. Haha With school back in, 21 will be the only place I'm doing tournaments at so hopefully I'll see you around there in the near future so we can go over the book some.

And yes, I got there a few hours early to acclimate myself with the tables. It's definitley a more enjoyable playing experience, by far.

Here are a few facts for you.

1. Most tables in bars are rented and thus the company that owns them provides the balls as part of that rent.
2. Those balls are cheap balls, around $30 a set.
3. Many accept that as customers are assholes and often take balls for non reason, other than being an asshole.
4. Bar owners could push the company to provide better balls or provide their own higher quality ones. But they don't as that cost money.

I personally would recommend you buy a set of the Premier which run about $130 and the very good purple arimith magnetic cue ball along with a carrying case and use those. I did that at the place I use to frequent.

On the 3 tables at my family's bar, I provide exactly what I said above as the tables are owned and everything is well maintained and cleaned often. I am yet to have an issue with someone taking a ball, but we don't cater to asshats so.....
