baggage

Check your cue in your luggage. Cues are not allowed thur the checkpoint area. Wayne

Nope, I went through today and they would not let me carry mine. It must be checked. I honestly would buy a suitcase big enough to carry your pool case inside it.

They have to be checked. If they fit into your luggage, do that. If not, put them in you case and then into a Porper travel bag with a lock. Let the person, who checks your bag, know that they are cues or TSA will cut the lock to check. (they still may do so)

Pre 9/11 attitudes were a little bit random from airline to airline and airport to airport and even in the case of the more strict airlines/airports I used to be able to sometimes sweet talk the check-in people to allow me to take it as hand luggage, sometimes on the proviso it would be handed to the cabin crew on arrival in the seating area.

Post 9/11....absolutely no chance, any airport, any airline, even if you hide it from check-in staff they will take it off you at the security point:(

just remember if you check a cue that it's really cold in the baggage compartment (35,000ft can get like that). in the past, i've wrapped my case in towels, then into a suitcase with no problems. it would suck to pull out a warped cue when you get there.

next time i fly i'm FedEx'ing my cue to the hotel.

I put mine in my case (which is sturdy), then into a travel cue case, with a TSA-approved lock. I also inform TSA of its contents and request that any inspection be performed in my presence.
