Pool Cues

What is it about Pool Cues that makes players including myself want to buy and sell them. I find myself reading the for sale section looking for something I might be interested in to buy and it's not because I need a cue since I have 2 custom cues now, but I can't resist the urge to look for a deal or to find that cue that I might think will improve my pool game.

I'd like to get some opinions from some of the people on this forum on this?

My wife asked me this question when I was about to sell and purchase another cue and I already had four cues. I told her that I did not need a new cue, but I had fun buying, selling and trying out other cues.

She said she understood that and it was a good answer. Not another word has been said. Have fun and enjoy the things in life that make you happy! :D

pool cues

My reason for buying cues, I have a hard time keeping control of my OCD, this behaviour disorder almost cost me my marriage. Like yourself I'm currently playing with a James White cue, the cue plays great, workmanship is outstanding, but I would trade the cue in order to get a eight pointed J. White. I'll play with the cue about six or seven months, the OCD kicks in and I'm searching for another cue. It drives me crazy.

That's a great answer and I guess it describes me pretty well. It's exciting to get a new cue and see how you play with it. I've owned cues with most of the different joint types and different shaft sizes and tapers and from this experience i've learned what suits me best.

I like buying & selling Cues. I have bought the same model Huebler Cue, 3 times. I still have one left, but it is a SPECIAL CUE & probably won't be sold. Whever I get into a slump, I pull that cue out & play with it until my slump is overcome.

My friend, John Parker of Auerbach Custom Cues, is a Custom Cue maker & he sends me his customers that are wanting to trade in a cue, for a new CUSTOM CUE. I found a great Pechauer through that system.

When I search for cues, I'm always seeing something I'd like to have, like some high end custom cue..... but my sense of responsibility overcomes my desire. I'm too old to be buying a $4000+ Cue, so I'll just be happy with the three Magic Wands I have.

Magic Cue?........Where?

I can quit buying cues anytime I want, I really can......(not).
