Pool hall in london

Hi to all azer... I come from italynbut now i am in london (for some months)... Somebody can help me to find the right pool hall in the city... I had try to play in the riley and in the hurricane but are two kids hall... Where i can find some pro or very good player? Thanks to all

Hi aleplace, not sure if you found somewhere yet, but try Suzy Q's in Victoria. That's the only one in London that I ever went to when I lived there.

My favorite one to go to was Mickey Flynn's but that one is in Cambridge.

Spent 3 long years in London...great city, but not for (American) pool. Rileys is about the best you can hope for, try the Elbow Room in Notting Hill...it's got (I think) 5 nine footers in decent shape. Problem is no action, you're likely to get limited to two hours only (they have a waiting list) and there are weekly tournaments with 50 pound bar tabs as prizes. Got a little bit of a rough element coming and going. I've heard the Riley's in Manchester has got some action...otherwise, you need to pick up snooker, skittles or British 8 ball!

Ditto. Spent 6 months there a couple of years ago and Riley's Victoria was the best I found, but still nothing to write home about. Having a huge Coca-Cola logo emblazoned on a red-cloth table didn't send me. But still, it was pool, although nobody plays rotation. The owner told me they'd tried to introduce "American pool" - AKA 9-ball - but it never caught on. It's ungodly expensive, though. I think table time was around $25/hr, a little less if you buy a yearly membership. You'd think that with all the great players they have they'd have more of a pool culture but I couldn't find it. And about the snooker player i can find some good player here in london? You know something good hall?

Of course a lot depends on where you are staying, London is a big place.

The club already mentioned in Victoria regularly sees top players like Imran Majid, Raj Hundal, Tony Drago etc and is easily reached by metro.

The club you're referring to is Suzy Q's and you're right, it is very close to the tube station. I didn't much care for Riley's. Suzy Q's had two floors, a members floor and a non-members. One floor had Gold Crowns in it. I'll let you figure out which one that is. I lived in England from 1998 to 2006 and if you wanted to play the top players that's where you went. Steve Knight used to play there until he dissapeared from the pool scene. Wonder where he went?

Would anyone in London right now keen on practising some 9 ball today 20 Jan, am free today staying near Gloucester Road. Do PM me if someone wants a game, not much of a gambler here.
