Pool Halls In The Columbus Area???

I have made it to the Columbus area for a for days. Yeah!!! Pretty nice area. About to go out of town for a few more days, but will be back in the area towards the end of this week for a couple of days before heading back south.

Would like to find a nice pool hall with some great 9-footers. I have already made it to one pool hall called 8-ball Sports and Recreation(possibly called the Golden Eight??), but their brunswicks had shag cloth on them that you could literally pull up about 2 inches. So they played slow.

Was hoping to find a real pool hall not a sports bar that may contain some cheap action. Nothing big just a little incentive.

Should be back in Columbus area Thursday so I will not be able to respond til than. Either respond here with some ideas of places to play or PM me.

You may want to try Sportsman's Billiard Club. They have Diamond tables both 9 and barbox's. I bought a used Diamond Pro from the owner Jerry Conkel. He was nice enough to give me a tour of the place and is a tournament player himself. Sportsman's has at least 20 tables. 3965 Sullivant Ave

Well, depending on what side of town you're staying on, there are two main pool halls with any kind of decent action. The first is Sportsman's listed above. Its on the west side of Columbus. Jerry is a great guy and I shoot with him a couple times a week. On the east side of Columbus is Cornfed Reds. Recently Cornfed's has had some decent action in there, unfortunately its just all us regulars in there playing. Cornfeds has 8 Olhausen 9 footers, 4 Diamond 9 footers and 3 Gold Crowns (which most of the action is played on). Sportsmens has 4 Diamond 9 footers, 14 bar boxes and two 3-cushion tables. What kind of action are you looking for? Please feel free to send me a private message and i'd be more than happy to see if we could line you up with something. Action might be a little slow at Cornfeds this weekend, 3 of the kids that play for decent action in there are leaving for the Junior Nationals on Wednesday. Hope you enjoy your stay in Columbus.
