Pool in Cayman Islands

Yesterday around 1 PM I landed in George Town,Grand Caymon.I looked for the places to hit some balls.Went to a sports Bar.They had 6 Olhausens with red cloth and burgundy color chalk.Paid 15 US $ an hour and 4 US $ for a bottle of Beer.Then I learned about a new pool hall- Jillians.This is an independent buisiness and is nothing to do with the chain we have in USA.This is a very nice place and well kept Big Gandy tables and there are plenty of good players.!5 US$ an hour and 4 $ for a bottle of beer.I bought 12 pack Budweiser in a grocery store and paid 19 US $.Caymon Islands will help stop drinking beer,I guess.Ofcourse the beaches are beautiful.I will be posting more as I know more about the players here.Cheers

Vagabond,whats up?I live in the cayman islands and things are done a little different here than what you are custom to but you can adjust to the life here very easily.We are more costly because we import most things.Anyhow about pool,when you go to jillians ask for the owner he is a good player.I dont know your skill level but he should provide you with some competition.I hope you are here for a while so we can link up and play.Enjoy your vacation in the cayman islands.

Vagabond,No offense intended,I thought you were just visiting like how millions do each year.My friends and I wont be there today but definately tomorrow. And as you probably already figured out 8 ball is the most popular here and then 9 ball .Very very few people here plays one pocket.See you around

Theyre are good from what I hear, some of them are in NZ for an oceana ranking event. Shame its work, but still - the CAYMANS!!!

First I want to make correction of earlier info.In Jillians the pool tables are Brunswick centurian but not Gandy.I also mentioned about the manager of the place.Actually he is the owner and his name is Stanely Walton.
Today I talked the owner into playing one pocket.He did play with me.He is a very good 9 Ball player.He lived in Florida and he knew Mario Cruz,Ditorro etc.He was very hospitable towards me and he did not charge my table time because I was playing with him.He is a polite gentleman besides being a good 9 ball player.
