Pool in Poland

Hi guys,

Does anybody know where is good to play or any info on leagues that might be around in Warsaw? I know it is a long shot but figured I would ask in just in case.

I am not looking for action or to play for money, just for places that might have good equipment and a friendly game. The last place I went to play gave me a stick that had no tip on it and didn't provide chalk. LOL Luckily I have my own cue and just ordered a break cue so wont need their sticks for anything. The atmosphere of the place also made purgatory seem exciting.

If anybody knows of any places or is planning on travelling to eastern Europe I am up for a game. I bet I would have to go to Germany to real have any expectations of seeing good equipment and players.

Thanks,

Ryan

Deutchland pool?

Ryan - Did a quick Google search for "Warsaw Poland billiards". As a start you might call them with any questions. Sounds like several nice places to choose from.

Never saw a pool table when kicking around Germany and Austria. Really wasn't looking at the time tho. Love their dark beer and lovely fraulines!:)

Thanks for the link Dave. I hadn't stumbled on to that site before but I know what you mean about tables being scarce around Europe.

Hello Ryan, you may have trouble finding any actions there!!! Do you know how many Polish people it takes just chalk a cue stick?

Well, I will tell you, it takes ten. It takes nine people to hold up the tenth doing a hand stand while he holds the chalk in his mouth and they spin him on the cue stick.

With that much work to just chalk a cue how can they ever finish a game of pool!!!!  :D

Good luck

Well the Polish guy I was playing last night had a unique game to say the least. He had his own cue and when he was about to break I offered him a bar cue to use. He insisted on using his own cue to break. I thought that was a tad unusual and shrugged it off. From there he proceeded to hit everyother ball he wanted to sink at break speed regardless of how it was set up. After watching him do this for about 30 minutes I understood very well why he wasn't concerned about using his cue to break.
