Nice article about a local amateur in Columbia, MI called Steve Deets. Don't know if anyone here knows the gentleman, but he plays in leagues and competed in the BCA Singles.

Favorite quote: "Deets said he was careful playing for money in the Philippines. 'Lots of guys didn’t figure it out, but if you won, they’d replace the guy you beat with a better guy,' Deets said. 'They’d keep coming in until you lost. And there’d always be a guy who could beat you.'"

It's Columbia, MO and he plays on a couple of my league teams. I don't know if he posts here but he's a good guy!

My favorite part of the article was where he said he took 12 years off to raise his children. He has his priorities straight, I'd say. Now he can play guilt-free pool, the happiest kind.
