Pool Inventions of the Future

We have all this cool stuff. Magic racks, AI balls, Projector trainers, extensions, bridges, layered tips, LD shafts, laminated butts, Carbon, Uni-locs, tappers, scuffs, etc...

What's next? What cool new Pool invention would you like to see?

I was just thinking it might be cool to see a vibrating chalk holder. So basically, even if your chalking technique is shlt, you could just hold the chalk to the tip and it would vibrate the chalk all over the tip. Kind of like an electric toothbrush!
I know it's been a while, but we moved last week and I just ran across that old BCA (1980) rule book. Here's the ad for the electric chalker.

Chalkless tips and carbon weave cloth.

The tips can be screw on for all I care. The cloth should be formed and frame mounted so you can remove it for spray washing.
In order for a tip to be BCA legal it needs to be made of a fibrous material, Bulletproof Recoil tips are synthetic but are BCA legal, I think this will be the future of tips.

Those have fiber? Doc says I need more...

Haven't tried any yet. They seem legit. Way pricey for molded (printed?) stuff. I "just know" there's synthetic gasket stuff with graded elasticity that should be perfect.

what do they do better than 1 piece of leather
and how can they be cheaper
What they do better than leather is they will never flatten or mushroom. The consistency is much better plus they don't get harder as you play with them. ALL leather tips compress as they wear down causing them to play harder and "glaze" making them more prone to miscue. We've all experienced playing with a single layer leather tip and it gets harder as it wears and just before it's worn out it stops mushrooming and holds its shape and plays great...then you have to replace it and start all over! This process was just what we had to deal with as pool players, until now. Recoil tips play the same ALWAYS

I don't know what tips you've used but the Ultraskins med's and hard's i've been using for 10+yrs neither mushroom, harden or glaze. I'm not gonna buy a tip that i may have to cut off in a few days. I've heard both +'s and -'s on these synthetic tips. One question: you say they 'last for yrs'. This is based on what? Whats the longest test period so far? What's the Rockwell on each tip?

I have one on my Carmeli I have been testing for 2 years. Still as good as the day I put it on. How did you know you wouldn't have to cut the ultraskin tip off in a few days the first time you tried it?

There's a place where i live in Ontario that sells and repair cues every time i ask for Ultraskins their out ,i think they want you to buy kamui 50 bucks no more I'm older and don't need fancy sht.

100 years ago people said the same thing about switching away from wood golf club shafts and heads 🤷‍♂️
Actually you're wrong there. Golf has always embraced new tech because it was always a upgrade in performance. I'm not totally anti-tech in any way but so much of what pops up in the pool world is just gadgets for gadgets sake. If i hit one of these who knows i may try one but i doubt it. With install you're looking at almost 50bux. I can get 10 of the Ultraskins for 44bux plus install so around $20/ea. I don't play enough pool to warrant a 50 dollar cue tip.

you can order them direct. $40 plus $4 ship for 10 tips. Problem is they only do US shipping.
