Pool lessons in NYC or tri-state area Jennifer?

Hi Jennifer, I'm interested in getting your opinion on pool instructors. I think I need a coach/instructor to get me to the next level.
I shoot at the high "B" level and occassionally can play with the A players in the NYC area. My problem is consistency. Some days i'm on, others...awful.
I know Robles gives lessons, but do you feel he is the best teacher in the area? I value your opinion, and would like to hear your advice on best instructors for my ability. I know Amsterdam is your sponsor, so i'm expecting you to say Robles or Lynch. I'm sure their good, but i'm looking for an objective view from you if you can. Additionally, many times the best players do not make the best teachers. Perhaps you can suggest someone you used that really helped your game. I can travel to NY, NJ, CT.
Sorry so loong, thanks for reading.
Happy New Year!
Tom

Hi Tom,

First I will say that consistency comes with lots of experience and good fundamentals. One of the things that I love about Tony is that he does focus intensely on fundamentals. I would never recommend an instructor that I didn't believe in just because I'm sponsored by the same club. Try one lesson with Tony and see what you think...there's a reason he has such a great rep in NYC!

Thanks Jennifer. I hope to play you in one of the local tournaments soon.

Hey Jenn, it's Ian...

tgavin99, it is amazing to see how nice and cordial you are with Jenn here while you are trying to get advise, but how you can be so rude and obnoxious to 2 friends of mine and even closer friends of Jenn - Steve Lipsky and especially SJM. Maturity is a virtue in pool and it might be time to grow up if you want to even attempt to play better pool or more importantly have some success in life.

I know Ginky was never ranked #1, but what was with that remark also?

It seems by the couple of threads I have read with your comments - you are already not liked by many. Usually when that many people have negative comments about you, you should take a minute to examine how you speak and conduct yourself with others - especially when you want to later go to others and suck up for advise.

I guess being nice is only in effect when you want something.

See ya on Thurs Jenn.

Hay jenn happy new year and tell everyone i said hello ..
p.s tell chris to call me ..thanks .hope to see ya when i come up ..

Wow this guy is lame.

A high "B" player giving Putnam crap about his game? Especially when Shawn played some fantastic pool last year. This might be the lamest thing I've seen on AZbilliards in the two plus years I've been here.

If you don't think Putnam can play, why don't you try and play him? After he shows you that you're not even remotely close in ability you can STFU and give him some respect.

Hence..

Shawn Putnam being known worldwide for his pool playing ability...

and this guy not being.

Putnam is a great player!

He is currently posting on CCB as O'Sully. He is bashing pros over there also.

That's really a shame. There have been times where I've questioned whether I should give up this forum because of a few nasty comments, but in the end, all of the great people on here make it all worth it.
