The way I see it, you don't need a contract to love somebody. We're too old to have kids, or else marriage would definitely be a consideration if we had children. The only thing we have is a Sammy dog. :smile:
However, I do feel that I have paid mega bucks into Social Security for years now, and I don't want to die and have nobody enjoy the tax fruits of my labor. I've paid much more into Social Security than Keith has. My health ain't what it used to be, and if it gets any worse, there just may be a legitimate church ceremony marriage on the horizon.
Actually, Keith and I technically are already married, FWIW!

Getting married later in life makes sense for a lot of reasons, both health-related and legal. Also financial.
