Pool pants

Ok, we read about the guy with the holy shirt
problem and others have confirmed that this
does happen. What about the pants? When I was
twenty and played a lot I would wear out my Levis
at table height. There would be a long hole right at
table height and the white pocket would show
through. This never seemed to happen to any of
my friends. They always said it was caused by
my having to reach in my pocket to pay (lol) but I
don't think so. I don't have any pics cause the pants
haven't fit for about thirty years! Did this ever happen
to any of you, or was it really caused by my reaching
into my pocket more than anyone else?

You want to see my pants? That's odd.

Yes, any friction on any material will cause it to wear out; some faster than others.
That being said, the pool table is not the worst enemy of my pants.
It is the pocket being sandwiched between the rough G10 scales and pocket clip of my knife.

Never seen that...the old timers used to play wearing a tiny apron, to keep their nice slacks from getting stained by the chrome fenders that wrapped around Brunswick Centennial tables...haven't seen the aprons or the Centennials in many, many years, though. If you carry a lot of change, keys and/or a pocket knife in your jeans, leaning/rubbing against the table can cause that stuff to wear thin through your pockets. I've had that happen, and never really made a connection to leaning over a pool table before. I now empty my front pockets when I play, since I notice with my advancing age that it hurts more when I reach for long shots otherwise. A lot of things hurt more lately.............
