Maybe the title will let this one stay up long enough to be of benefit to some of you who don't currently have flood insurance.

Just a couple of quick notes:
1. Your homeowners insurance policy does not cover flooding.
2. Flood Insurance is incredibly cheap.
3. Floods can happen practically anywhere in the U.S.
4. A good website to visit is www.floodsmart.gov
5. Hope if you ever have a flood, you will have been smart enough to spend as little as $200 a year for flood insurance.

I'll take my flogging for posting this in the main forum but in good conscience, I just had to post this here, after reading about the 4,000 homes which recently got flooded in Cedar Rapids, only a little over 600 had flood insurance.

Think about it. Flooding can cause 50-100 THOUSAND DOLLARS to your home. You might pay as little as $200 to insure your house against flooding.
