me and my team mates from my local pool team in England uk have decided to save some money up and go over to the usa at the end of our pool season next year for our annual end of season beer session,we are planning on having a week or maybe 10 days in the u.s. depending on permission from our wives of course.Can anyone out there recommend a good town or city for us to go to for some pool,beer ,nightlife and sightseeing etc.its going to be a once in a lifetime trip for us all so we want to make the most of it!.some people have said go to las vegas but,no offence to vegas,we want to meet some of the "real" local people over there and play some pool in the local pool halls we hear so much about.thanks.

Just kidding. If you aren't a vampire or poor, go to SanDiego and LA. On the other side, Florida might be a good choice. On the 3rd hand, figure a date and come for a big tournament, like derby city.

Maybe St. Louis, Mo. or Atlanta, Ga. or Tulsa, Ok.
Personally, I don't think you could wrong if you planned it
at a time that some of the best tournaments were going on,
and went to the city where it is located at. Like for one
of the IPT events, or the U.S. Open 9 ball championship,
or the Derby City Classic. Out of those the Derby City
Classic would be lots of Pool, lots of fun. It is held in January
every year.

When are you coming, how long wil you be staying and whats your real interest, Night life, pool sightseeing and so on the US is a big place you can't just jump around so easy you. Be sure you know what you are going to be doing as far as rental cars and so on the rules can be different for people from out of the country. I just ran into this with some friends from Germany this week, they couldn't rent a car. I ended having to rent them a car in my name and putting them down as extra drivers. They were lucky they knew someone here or their trip would have been ruined. If you are coming for the pool I would really suggest you come for the Derby classic. If you want some night life as well as some pool Florida would be a good choice.
