What's the world coming to? The augmented reality stuff is pretty cool, though. Would make a great training aide if it were ever commercialized cheaply.

It looks like it needs more learning on how to rack nine ball. It put an 11 ball on the back of the rack. Nice video. I gotta get one of them.

Honestly, the machine is interesting but by no means is it a decent pool player. I'm fascinated to see how accurate it is and whether or not it can keep up with a GREAT pocketer like Mika Immonen. I can't imagine it could even keep up with a solid amateur. What it is ESPECIALLY good for is giving us a better understanding as to how we determine the correct point of contact, what might go into our thought process.

I think if the designer was to work with a pro level player to better understand the mechanics of the stroke, what english is and how it effects the path of the cue ball, this robot could develop into quite a player.
It would be very interesting to contact the designer and see if he (or they) are still working on this project.

I don't know. Your brain is more advanced than any computer out there. Your arm is more precise than any robot. Your eyes are more capable than any lens. You can spend all year with the best players and still stink.
