Pool related pain and injuries

. Went to physical therapist for three months - no relief, will try cortisone shots next, please wish me luck. :D  :D

3 months is an awfully long time to keep someone in PT if there is no relief. If it is not getting better after 4-6 wks, I usually suggest progressing to the next level. Cortizone often helps. Hopefully they have done an MRI by this time to make sure there is no actual tear of any size. Good Luck.

I definately think a controlled exercise program that includes low impact aerobics is good for overall health as well as low back pain. I am glad that has worked well for you Mullyman.

If I had pain that nothing else helped, I would certainly be willing to try the acupuncture. Current western medicine believes the effects are due to the release of endorphins caused by acupuncture. There was a study done that showed a significant decrease in the effectiveness of acupuncture when endorphin blockers were given before the treatment. I am glad it has worked for some on here. It certainly will not heal stenosis, but may help the soft tissue problems related to it.

Wow, a lot of issues! Looks like we need a nice ergonomic guideline for shooting!! I like to stretch often by holding my stick horizontal in my hands and do some side twists, stretches over the head, behind the neck gently and pulling it down from over head in front of my chest while flexing the pecs. The stretching helps very much! I shoot better when the muscles are loosened up too, another direct benefit.

I smashed my hand on the headrail during a break a few times too, wow that hurts!!

Cozy shoes with good grip are a must. An unexpected slip can make your back spasm.
