Can anyone tell me of any good places in the boca raton fl area i will be down there for 3 weeks on business looking for places that have good tourneys thanx...

Not sure about Boca. I am in the West Palm Beach area which is about 30 minutes north of Boca depending on traffic. Atlantic Billiards on Okeechobee Blvd. is the best place to play around here in my opinion. Grovers (aka Airport Billiards) on Military Trail in West Palm Beach is a rat hole but there is action in there. I think they have a tournament on Sundays. Hollywood Billiards is just south of Boca and is rumored to have good action. But I don't go down there enough to be sure. If you want to drive up to west palm beach, if I'm around, I will play you some cheap sets. Shoot me an IM if you want.

i spent 18 years in davie/hollywood/plantation/ft. lauderdale. (Just moved to GA. in 07) hollywood billiards will definately have action. it always did and some of the players are very strong. it is on the s.e. corner of 441 and hollywood blvd. there is hot shots on university just north of oakland park blvd. not much action but a nice room. there is classic billiards just north of hot shots it's a bit of a shit hole but serviceable, they are both listed in oakland park i think. beyond billiards on the n.w. corner of university and stirling rd. in davie. also in davie on st. rd. 84 just east of nob hill and west of pine island rd. is the billiard club, not a bad place. gatsby's on the s.w. corner of university and st. rd. 84. more of bar/ eatery/ club but they do have about 15 or so tables. there also is a gatsby's in boca but i've never been there so not sure on the tablles. there used to be a place on the n.e corner of university and i believe royal palm blvd in coral springs but the name changed quite a few time so i can't tell you what it's called today. these places are all about a half hour to 40 minute drive from boca depending on traffic/time of day and how fast you drive. most of them can be reached easiest by taking the turnpike south and getting off at sunrise and heading west for the places in oakland park, getting off at griffin and heading west for the places in davie and getting off at hollywood and heading east for hollywood billiards. all of these places i mentioned are places i used to play, there are many more i just never went to. they all have 9ft tables, most of them gold crowns, some gandy big g's and hot shots has i brunswicks i am just not sure of the model name i think they are metroplitans. hope this helps.
