Hello. Getting into a new house March 1st (or so they say it will be ready)..

Anyway, got a game room finally.

I was looking for some answers to the following, if someone can help that would be great.

What are the room dimensions needed to accomidate a 4x8 slate pool table with no obstructions on either side?

Is there someone local to the Mandeville (New Orleans) area that sets up pool tables? I would rather pay someone cash in hand than deal with the ONLY billiards place here. They are not nice and their prices are insane.

And on the same note, what about a company that can frieght the table to me at a reasonable price? Any suggestions on where to look for a table?

Hey Felix,

Room demensions... for 44x88 add 60 in. x 2= 120 in plus your base mesurment... For a standard 8 ft table using a standard 57 in cue (a little over for room to stroke cue) you need 164 in. for width and 208 in. for length or 14 ft. x 17 ft. 4 in.

As far as tables you can call Diamond directly for a quote. They have new and used and do deliver and install in your area.

Pat O'Donnell and Chris Shanklin have a great line of all wood tables at very reasonable prices... Maybe hook you up with a local mechanic as well. Give them a call. They are both listed in the mechanics thread at the top of the page.

Northern LA - Mike House 321-250-0165 Mike was listed in the mechanics thread for Northern LA. he may be your man or know of a reliable company in your area...worth a shot.

Good Luck
Jay
