Pool Table Measurements

I was just wondering what the measurements for the spots are when positioning the 1 and 9 ball and also the triangle from the bottom rail on a pool table?

The foot spot should be on the intersection of the long string and the foot string. Head ball goes on the spot.

Sure... sorry... The center of the spot should be placed on a line down the center table and a line across the table even with the second diamond from the foot end of the table.

Cane can you simplify that answer as I didn't understand any of it.

On the rail of the table there are sights/diamonds. The foot spot is the intersection between the second diamond on the long rail and the middle diamond on the short rail.

You could also think of it this way: the foot spot is 1/4 of the way up the table and equidistant from the long rails.

Draw a line lengthwise between the middle diamonds.
Draw a line across the table from the second diamond up from the end rail.
The spot goes where the two lines intersect.
The 1-Ball goes on the spot. the 9-Ball in the middle of tha rack.

If you have an 8 foot table, measure 22in. out from the end rail and 22in across from the side rail. If you have an 8 oversize table, measure 23in. out from the end rail and 23in across from the side rail. If you have an 9 foot table, measure 25in. out from the end rail and 25in across from the side rail. All this is based on the fact that the distance between the side rails actually measures properly. An 8ft table should measure 44 in from nose of cushion to nose of cushion. Often I have seen them measure 44 1/2 or some other odd dimension. The best way I have found is to measure the width beteen the cushions and just place the spot at the half way point.

Yup, half the distance from the sides and one quarter distance from the end.
There's the place for the spot.
No more complicated than that.
