Pool Table Mecahnic - SC Area

I recently made a post about installing my table and recovering it myself and most people have recommended that I hire a professional to do it.

I have made a few inquireies to local poolhalls, but haven't heard back yet. I am looking for a really good table mechanic in the upstate SC area. I am in Anderson (near Clemson).

There are a few scenarios that I have in mind and I would like to get a price estimate, from anybody in the business:

Scenario 1:
Visit one - recover and level table with old worn cloth. Doesn't have to be the best job.
Visit two - move the table next door (500 feet) and setup, recover, and level with new Simonis 760 cloth. This time I would like it to be done as perfectly as possible. (The PTM would provide the cloth.)

Scenario 2:
Visit one - recover and level table with old worn cloth. Doesn't have to be the best job.
Visit two - recover and level table with new Simonis 760 cloth. (I would be moving and doing all of the heavy lifting myself. The PTM would provide the cloth.)

The other scenarios are the same except I would be providing the new Simonis cloth.

Basically I am looking for a list of good PTM's in the area and some cost estimates.

1) How much to just recover and level?
2) How much to move 500 feet, install, recover and level?
3) How much money could I save if I bought the new cloth online. I have heard as low as $175 + shipping online for Simonis 760.

Thanks for all of the info guys, this site has been extremely helpful with all of my questions.

Spartan Custom of Spartanburg specializes in Advertising, Shirts, and when that business is slow, they double as "shade tree" pool table mechanics. My advice is to stay far away from this bunch.

Your best bet would be Loree Jon Jones' (WPBA Legend) store in Greenville and Anderson. You would be best off talking to Rich at the Greenville location. The number at the Greenville store is 864-286-3366.

I have talked to them and got some quotes.

If I moved the table myself, but they put on new cloth (including rails), setup and level it would be $500. The cloth seems to be consistently priced at or around $200, so that means labor would be $300. If they moved it also, it would be $100 more, $600 total.

These prices seem high to me. I was expecting it to be $300 setup and level and probably $500 including the move.

Is $300 in labor costs for setup, refelt and level normal?

There is a good player named Scott Rabon from Columbia that does tables. You can PM is you want his number. Good player that actually attended Clemson.
