Pool table upgrade - market research

I'm trying to figure out a way to project improved patronage by upgrading tables. The current tables are a mix of 7 & 8 footers. Two are bar-box coin-op. The other six are a mix of Connolly and similar. Replacing the tables with Diamond tables would be about $10k each. Does anyone know of a source of market research on the ROI?

You should do much better than $10K each on a multiple table deal. Brand new 8' Diamond Pro-Am tables retail for $7495.

I’m not a room owner:

As a player, if rooms are equidistant to me, I’ll go to the one that has the best equipment. Are there rooms close to you for you to “take” their customers from? Do they have similar, worse, or better equipment than you? I don’t think new equipment will bring in players that don’t currently play at a competing room.

(Just an aside, also you may want to consider Predator tables. They play amazing).

The Rhino X is a perfect table for most places and comes in 7 and 8' models. The Rhino Pro with the Taiwanese rubber installed, more then holds it's own when compared to other top brands. Easy. I know nothing about the current bar boxes, but upgrade them also.

wouldn't the shipping for these be quite expensive to the US?

600 to 700 a table, maybe less if you find the right shipping agent.

Rasson Hero tables are another great choice and should fill the need of most. I have played on some Hero tables, with the newer rail rubber, 4 1/4" pockets, 860HR cloth installed and these Hero tables play as well as any of the higher priced tables available.
