"Pool" vacation...

I took the last week off from pool (after a bad night in league)....feeling refreshed & ready to play again, with a new attitude. But this isn't the type of pool vacation I'm talking about.

I've thought about taking a pool-playing vacation, where I travel down to the Denver area & do nothing but play pool & hang out in various places along the way. 8-10 hours of pool each day could only be good for my game. Maybe take some lessons from someone (I've thought about Samm Diep).

And who knows, maybe I'll take some $$$ of some unsuspecting AZBilliard forumite..... :D

I'm in the rut of work, raise kids, work, raise kids, work raise kids....& really need a break....I may hit the road this spring if not sooner.

Pool Vacation

mrpool,

The closest thing I've had to this has been going to the US Open that last 5 years in a row for 3 or 4 days. I've hung out with a bunch of people from the CCB on Billiards Digest and friends from Richmond. Nothing but playing and watching pool for hours a day. It's been great! I've decided to go to nationals this year in Vegas and see how that is, too. Thank goodness I have an understanding wife!

Enjoy yourself!

I don't think Denver is going to be the place with all the snow - might never be able to get out of the poolroom once you get there!! What about the bar box tournie in Helena this coming weekend - sort of thinking about it myself - but my rut is work, no more kids to make it fun, work.

I'd also thought about either Spokane, WA or Rapid City, SD. If I go to Rapid, I may have to take on TheConArtist....

bus it over to nyc, be sure to
bite off more than you can chew

It's funny you mentioned that.

Lately I have been pondering the Idea of visiting various pool halls around Georgia. And writing a review on them for my group Georgia Billiards.

What I was going to do was travel around Georgia and get a hotel and check out a pool hall on a Saturday night. Probably alone too since most of my friends don't have this kind of passion about pool. And I'm sort of a loner. Of course visiting strange pool halls alone can have risks. But it's worth taking I say.

My first one I have planned is Dawsonville Pool Room. I saw it while on a way to a job and have been interested in it.

Who knows. Maybe later on expand it to pool halls around the Southeast and maybe the Country or world.

Montana to Denver???

You need to break out of your geographic prison - spend a few bucks and fly to the Phillipines! :D :D :D
