Hi,

Hello,

I IP4 and I was shooting some video from the pool hall on it. I moved the camera in 2 different positions, one was with the camera in the upper left corner and the other was the lower right corner. Unfort, I shot most of the videos with the camera one way and not the other (can't remember which) and the videos are sideways.

My issue is that I would like to watch or burn them and I've used every program I can think of to rite the movies. .avi and I tried VLC Media player classic, some other programs and the rotate feature and it doesn't seem to work. Also tried some program called movie rotator, nothing has worked. ConvertxtoDVD keeps them in the sideways format.

I even followed a tutorial in VLC for the rotation and nothing has worked. Can anyone suggest a method to rotate the videos and save them for burning.

I'd like to convert the vids and put them up on the net, but need help.
 
I believe u can use Photoshop app.
It's easiest to email them to yourself and open them on your computer and go from there.
 
Thanks for the advice.

Can't ever remember seeing videos small enough to email to yourself, most ISP's put a limit of 10mb on a file and these videos are almost 1gb a piece some are 500mb.

Also Photoshop has a huge learning curve. I'm trying to find a more basic fix.

I have this version of Pinnacle, http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Family/Studio+Ultimate+Collection+15.htm and had seen a feature called "rotate" but had never tried it. Well I just did a short sample and sure enough it rotates the video 90 degrees or any degree you choose.

Very easy to use. Rotate can be found in Toolbox >> Add Video Effects
 
I prefer not to have to go out and buy an editing program for a few videos.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.
 
VLC absolutely WILL do this, but i also had trouble getting it to happen from -- probably the same -- tutorial. can't remember offhand how i ended up getting it to work, but i think it involved setting rotation in the prefs in some obscure way.

i tried several other methods which didn't work, then came back to VLC. stick with it, it really will work if you find the right part of the prefs. i think there were Two things which had to be set for it to work.
 
Thank you wiggly, I have thought there was a burn solution but it appears I will need a solution to fix the images and then burn them as opposed to the former.

Have you tried going to CNET and downloading "Media Cope"?
Media cope is free.

It has these features and more...
Play, cut, convert, and join all your audio, videos, and pictures Plus there is a rotate option in the convert area.

I tried it and it worked on a video I purposely shot upside down.
If your continuous video has both "portrait" and "landscape" you will most likely have to do some serious cutting and joining after the rotation.

If you have a Windows CPU, you can use "Windows Movie maker" to change the rotation of the video and it works if you don't mind the conversion to a different format.
