Sounds like a great event. Alas, I don't fancy the American's chances. We've already seen what happened at the "Soccer World Series" when there were actually teams from other countries. What a shocker!! ;)

I'm really looking forward to this event, I've been saying for years how much pool needs some kind of a world cup event. When you consider the vast amount of nations with great players this event was really needed IMO. Does anyone know exactly how the format will run?

You have to wonder about some of the choices for players though, Steve Davis and Jimmy White for one of the England teams? Obviously just an attempt by matchroom to bring in the TV ratings:rolleyes: No Wu for Taiwan and no Hohmann for Germany:( At least one of our local players Tyler Edey made it in for team Canada!

I think Daryl Peach has replaced Jimmy White and will partner Davis.

I was gonna mention his name LOL! This is good to hear, it hurts the credibility of the event if each nation isn't putting forth it's best players.

I don't know if all the players wanted to play but like many nations England could have probably had ten teams. Imran Majid is arguably England number 1 now based on his Euro Tour ranking. Raj,Imran, and Daryl should have been in with either Ronnie or Steve.

Will be interesting to see what happens, esp given its Scotch Doubles.

As somebody said, the filipinos have an ok team :)

I would have to go

with Jet Li, he can bicycle kick the ball in the pocket .... lol

He can partner up with Souquet and I'd have trouble betting against that pair.

I wonder how the pairs were chosen. I'm assuming scheduling takes a part in all of this, but there are obviously some nice talents missing.

I think I'll be going down to catch a couple of days, even if it does involve a trip to Wales.

I'm looking forward to this one, should be a great event!

I believe it is.

Young Mr. Edey had better get at his speed training or Luc may run him down playing scotch doubles !

Another of your local players could have been named, Edwin has been playing well lately and would have been a deserving pick imo.
