Pool "World Tour" 2022. The Rise of Pool ?

2022 is the year pool bounces back bigger and better than pre-covid-19. We have a defacto “World Tour” if we combine 2 tours- Matchroom nineball Tour with CSI Predator 10 ball tour each with their own rankings and also WPA ranking. First time, the pool calendar is packed 10-11 months with so many international events about 2 events per month. About 20 total events (comprising 15 ranking events) which is about same number as Snooker World Tour.
Field at next event Las Vegas Open 2 days from now will be strongest yet (since pre-covid-19) https://www.playcsipool.com/2022-las-vegas-open.html and the same field will follow through to subsequent events World 10 Ball, World 9 Ball. The elites will be around except for Gorst and few Philippines and China players.
This is the new Golden Era of Pool. And a win for players and fans. Enjoy it while it lasts 🤣

If you think about it in a broad spectrum and take a lesson from the rodeo world they have the national finals each December for a chance at a huge paycheck after a 10 day event with the top 15 money winners in each event or even have the top 3 , 5 whatever just to finish off a wonderful season with a chance to have a king / queen of the hill type events for the men and women .
 
Nice list! I note the Arizona and Wisconsin events last few months were $25K to Gorst & Kazakis

Players need to be sponsored and even salaried. All that traveling and cost, they are way in the hole before they hit the first ball.

No matter how you look at it, only a hand full can make any kind of living with little or no security. None become household names that they can capitalize on.

I agree. The economics of participation in the pro game are still a headache for all but the elite, but things are starting to take a turn for the better as entry fees are trending downward and prize money is trending upward. Still, travel and lodging costs remain substantial. On the other hand, the elite have never had it better and are starting to earn real money from competition.

It's hard to imagine pool players being salaried anytime soon, not even the most elite. Lest we forget, adding a lot of fixed costs to pool's business model through salaries was attempted by the Bonus Ball proprietors, and the resulting financial burden was more than they could overcome. Significant earnings from sponsorship, with only a few exceptions, will remain the domain of the elite.

Are the days wherein players traveled/stayed together to share costs gone...? Not saying that makes travelling from tourney to tourney lucrative. Just not nearly as daunting as it seems on the surface.
