porper big shaver??

i would like something close to a willard tip machine but much cheaper.the only thing ive been able to find is a porper big shaver.anyone have one or has used one.are they any good

Well, they do trim the tip down no problem like a willard machine, but, it is very scary using it to make sure you don't cut your ferrule. The thing is, the opening that goes over the tip is bigger than your tip around, so you kinda have to angle it a little bit to hit the tip as you're cutting.

I have one and it works fine. Although I do think it's a bit overpriced for what it is

absolutely the best tip device I have ever used until I got a lathe still use it for tips that have mushroomed (for other players) at tournaments and friends at the pool hall--never had a problem cutting ferrules maybe I was just careful. lol also seems to do a good job burnishing the edge of the tip.
