Porper Lathe DRO

Has anyone been able to mount a DRO to the Proper lathe with sucess? I'd like to add one to assist in accurate ring parting. Measuring each ring with a caliper to the blade is slow and sometimes aggravaiting. So any help would be great. Pictures even better! I have even considered mounting a 8" DRO I saw on ebay, and just leave it set up for a week and cut a thousand rings...just a thought.

I have no idea how the Porper lathe is but IF it would help in any way, I can show pics of how I have mine hooked up to my midamerica lathe from Todd which is just a Taig style lathe.

just get a couple of these you can cut them to length http://www.grizzly.com/products/12-Digital-Scale-with-Remote-Readout-Inch-Metric-Fraction/T23012 you may have to tap a hole or two and make a bracket but way less money and headache than a true DRO
